Profile Information

Interest in Skidaway Island:
Current Resident
About Me:
My family moved to Savannah from Alpharetta, GA in 2006. I grew up in Michigan, but have been a Georgian since 1993.
We have two children and a dog that keep us busy. We live in Plantation and my husband and I both work out of a home office.

I started this online community so that my family can get to know other, like-minded, busy families. New Neighbors was a fabulous resource for us as new residents. We hope that this 'networld' becomes a fabulous resource for the long haul!
Activities I like to participate in on the island?
Walking, biking, family activities, book club, supper club

Playing Well with LEGO

We love LEGO in our family. The picture below is just one of the many LEGO creations my children created this past summer:

Through the years, we have amassed quite a collection of bricks, minifigures, baseplates, etc. Trust me, I find bricks all over the house. And, I have step… Continue

Christmas Tree Recycling

Like most islanders, we took down our Christmas tree and decorations this past weekend. Since we have an artificial tree, we simply stored the tree away in the attic until next year.
However, if you decorated a real tree, you will want to store it out back until this coming Saturday (January 9, 2010) and the… Continue

Going Coastal with House Guests - Part II: Tybee Island

First, Some Background:
An islander recently asked where she could take her out-of-town guest that would provide representation of coastal Georgia, not just Savannah. As I replied, I thought this information may be useful to others. So I set about compiling a few blogs outlining day/overnight trips you can take with guests that come to visit.
Note: By no means am I a tour guide. Nor do I claim to know all things about coastal Georgia. Please feel free to reply with your two… Continue

Yes, we did find Ben. After I posted the good news, I checked my email and found your inquiry. Thank you so much for your concern, and most of all thank you for the wonderful new web site. This is a bonanza for Landings residents!

Did You Know?

Groups on ST

Did you know you can create a group on topics of interest to Islanders? Groups can be public where any member can join. Or they can be private where only approved group members can join a group and see the communications that occur within the group.

Private groups are great to use when information exchanged in the group is not intended for public view.

Utilizing groups on Skidaway Today makes communications with an interest group much easier than traditional e-mail. The can also be a great recruiting tool to attract new members to an existing organization on the island.

Check out Video Help for more info on creating groups.

Please let us know if you have any questions on setting up new groups.
